To start off, I have lived in Chesapeake, Virginia for almost my entire life. I am 20 years old and have come to find my own apartment. Now seeing as you are probably looking for an apartment, you should really check out websites like craigslist and other apartment websites. You'll notice that a lot of the time, there are many different ratings on different websites for certain apartment complex's and this is normal. I couldn't imagine every single person that writes a review to give the apartment complex the same rating. So you would really want to check out multiple websites to see how that apartment is rated.

Another great idea when looking for apartments in Chesapeake, Virginia, is the fact that you should be actually reading the reviews. Some people will give an apartment complex a good rating just because they are being paid. Believe me, this happens all the time. I have come across some apartments in the area that have actually handed out $100.00 in cash just to receive a good review on multiple websites. The best way to track something like this would be to check the dates of which the reviews were written.

Let's just say you come across a bunch of reviews that are based around the same time period, but after those reviews, there were no more reviews for weeks or months. This is most likely an apartment that is more-so paying it's residents to give them a good review. Now if you were to go into a review website and found that most of the reviews were spread out over a span of weeks/months, then you would probably be more likely to find an honest review, rather than something that is false.

Another fact is, you will also notice that just in the city of Chesapeake, there are tons of different apartment complex's, so the major problem would have to be picking the apartment complex that actually fits your needs. Many and almost all apartments have a swimming pool, so if you have children, this is wonderful.

Lastly, you would want to check and see if the apartment complex actually has a washer and dryer inside of the apartment. For years, I had been living in apartment's that didn't have the washer and dryer within the actual apartment. You wouldn't believe how annoying it can get walking up and down 3 stories of steps every other day just to get a load of laundry! So find somewhere that fits what you want.
